As single parents, we were juggling it all—kids, work, school drop-offs, dinners, and the occasional quiet moment.

We both hoped to find someone who understood the beautiful chaos of family life, but dating felt impossible. So, we met the good old-fashioned way: ONLINE.
We lived an hour apart, but decided to give it a shot. Our first date was in January 2020—an empty restaurant, Tom early, Millie late (naturally). We bonded over water (to the waitress’s dismay) and a shared love of hiking, but the spark wasn’t instant.

Still, we went on a hike for our second date. With each outing, something grew.

Then the world shut down. The pandemic could have pulled us apart, but it brought us closer. With time to slow down, we connected on long calls, distanced walks, and eventually, wilderness escapes. We fell in love trekking through the Adirondack High Peaks, muddy boots and all.

And when it came time to say “I do,” we returned to the mountains. Our Adirondack wedding weekend was pure magic—until the rain came. On the big day, we pivoted to a charming old arts center with stained glass and creaky wood floors. It was perfect. Back at our tented reception, soaked and smiling, we danced, laughed, and even jumped barefoot into a rain-soaked bounce house. It wasn’t the wedding we planned, but it was everything we needed—real, joyful, and full of love. We wouldn’t change a thing.

We honeymooned in Banff, Canada, and, with Tom being a wedding photographer, we hiked up to mountain peaks in our wedding attire, taking some portraits at dusk and sunset. It was magical!

Alayne and her team made me and my family feel absolutely beautiful. They took incredible care with every detail. My hair and makeup were absolutely stunning and somehow lasted through rain, tears, and dancing all night.
Their kindness and care made such a difference, not just for me but for my whole family. Everyone felt so special and radiant. I loved the products so much that I even brought them on our honeymoon for photos.
Thank you for helping me feel confident, joyful, and like myself on one of the most important days of my life.
